The Hard Truth About Healing After Divorce
Nobody is coming to rescue you
There’s a myth I see a lot in the divorce space — and I understand why it’s so tempting to believe.
“If I just find the right coach... the right program... the right podcast episode… something will shift.”
It’s that quiet hope that something or someone else will come and save us from the pain.
I remember being in that space. Waking up every day with that sick, heavy feeling in my gut. Barely holding it together around my kids. Terrified about what the future looked like. Crying in the car on the way to work and pulling it together just enough to walk through the door.
All I wanted was to find something—the right therapist, the right book, the right podcast, the right person—to finally say the thing that would make it all click. To make the pain stop. To make me feel like myself again.
But the brutal truth?
Healing doesn’t come from access.
It doesn’t come from consuming more advice.
It doesn’t come from working with the most expensive or experienced coach.
Healing comes when you decide you’re ready to do the real work.
The messy, uncomfortable, boring, brave work of looking inward after divorce.
Over and over again.
You can have a world-class coach — but if you’re not showing up fully, nothing changes.
You can join a course, read the books and get the journal prompts — but if you’re still hoping someone will do the hard part for you, you’ll stay stuck.
I’ve worked with women and men at all stages of the divorce process — and what sets the ones who move forward apart isn’t that they had it easier or more money or more time.
It’s that they decided to show up.
They got tired of spinning.
They got tired of waiting for clarity and motivation or for someone else to tell them what to do.
They took one brave step. And then another.
That’s what creates momentum when you’re trying to heal.
Divorce recovery doesn’t come with a magic pill or a shortcut.
It doesn’t come from reading inspirational quotes on Instagram.
My job isn’t to take away your discomfort or hand you quick answers.
That would be doing you a disservice.
Because the strength you’re looking for? It’s already in you.
You just might need someone to help you uncover it.
I’m here to help you find the gold that’s already inside you — buried under all the heartbreak and self-doubt — and to walk beside you while you bring it back to life.
You don’t need to be fearless.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing.
So ask yourself:
👉 What’s one bold, small action I could take today?
👉 What am I avoiding because it feels too uncomfortable or unfamiliar?
👉 What would happen if I stopped waiting for someone else to fix it?
Your healing doesn’t depend on anyone else.
It starts with you.
And I believe in you.
